The Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Peter Keane hosted the annual Mayor’s Charity Ball on Friday, 13 June 2025, at the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway. The much-anticipated annual event was a memorable evening of celebration, entertainment, and community spirit — all in aid of four exceptional local charities: Galway Autism Partnership, Galway Down Syndrome, The Blue Teapot Theatre Company, and Rosabel’s Rooms.
Over 300 guests attended the ball, with all proceeds from the event being directed to support the vital work of the Charities across Galway City and beyond.
Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Peter Keane commented, “I cannot believe how quickly my term as Mayor of Galway City has passed. I am delighted to host this year’s Mayor’s Charity Ball at The Ardilaun Hotel. The charities I have chosen are truly worthy of all the financial support such an event can provide, and I am deeply honoured to be able to assist them in this small way. Thank you to all who supported this event, and the four deserving charities - Galway Autism Partnership, Galway Down Syndrome, The Blue Teapot Theatre Company, and Rosabel’s Rooms.”
The evening was expertly compered by Keith Finnegan, Freeman of Galway City. Performances include the soul-stirring the Village Community Choir, Tierney Talks, Niall McCabe and the ever-popular Byrne Brothers, and DJ Lar spun 80s and 90s favourites late into the night. The stellar lineup of live entertainment included special guests Sharon Shannon, the Kane Sisters, Liz and Yvonne, Fiona Lydon and amazing dancing from Nathan Pilatzke.
Over 30 local businesses provided prizes for the charity raffle – thank you to all for their support on the night.
